Aston Villa have been linked with a move to seal the transfer of Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara this summer.

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has delivered a verdict on the Brazilian’s fitness record in recent seasons.

The 26-year-old moved to Turkey in the summer of 2024 after spending two years at Norwich City.

Sara expected to clear medical ahead of potential transfer

While the midfielder had ankle ligament issues, he’s not likely to face any problem clearing his medical, according to Dr Brar.

Aston Villa could do with Sara for the right price

Sara is an ideal backup option for Aston Villa due to his versatility and proven track record.

His appearances for Galatasaray demonstrate his ability to contribute creatively, complementing the Villa Park outfit’s midfield.

Sara’s prior stint at Norwich shows that he can adapt to English football, making him a low-risk squad player.

However, Villa must not overpay, as his valuation risks inflating for a non-starter.

With Financial Fair Play constraints looming, Unai Emery should prioritise cost-effective signings, ensuring Sara’s role as a rotational player doesn’t strain Villa’s budget for key targets.

It’s essential that the first priority is given to strengthening the playing eleven, as qualifying for the Champions League is a must.

After that, adding to the depth is essential as there are injuries over the course of the season and Emery needs reliable players to step in.
