Everton are exploring a number of deals this summer transfer window.
David Moyes is showing an interest in Douglas Luiz, who is valued at around £34m by Serie A giants Juventus.
Moyes is also looking at Manchester City’s Jack Grealish, though, that deal would require significant financial might.
A goalkeeper is on the agenda, too, following the departures of Joao Virginia and Asmir Begovic earlier this month.
Moyes wants Sheffield United’s Michael Cooper to join as Jordan Pickford’s understudy, and here’s why Dwight McNeil could play a key role in the potential Everton transfer.

Why Dwight McNeil could be key in Michael Cooper’s transfer to Everton
Moyes wants to bring in a number two shot-stopper, and Cooper appears to be his priority target after a sensational season in the Championship.
The 25-year-old, who joined the Blades from Plymouth Argyle last summer, was perhaps only second to James Trafford as the best keeper in the league.
It’s being reported that the Toffees are ready to offer £5m plus add-ons to land Cooper’s signature, however, they’ll likely have to come back with an improved bid.

Interestingly, McNeil actually shares the same agent as Cooper, so he could help to strike a deal regarding personal terms.
Jake O’Brien is also under the same agency, Unique Sports Group.
Cooper wants regular playing time
There is an understanding that Cooper will only leave Bramall Lane if he is assured of regular playing time.
Indeed, with Pickford between the sticks, that won’t be possible on Merseyside, however, he could become his successor.
Pickford, 31, isn’t getting any younger, and the club will already be doing their due diligence on finding a suitable replacement.
Perhaps the pitch to Cooper will be based around becoming the Toffees’ number in the next couple of seasons, with cup duties in the meantime.
Admittedly, it’d be a hard sell at the moment.
