The Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets deal just took a major turn in becoming the first seven-team trade in NBA history. This deal also includes Clint Capela coming to H-town, which was initially reported as part of free agency, as well. Here’s Shams with all the details.
PHX: Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Khaman Maluach, Rasheer Fleming, Koby Brea, Daeqwon Plowden, 2nd
HOU: Kevin Durant, Clint Capela
BKN: 2 2nds
GSW: Alex Toohey, Jahmai Mashack
ATL: 2nd swap, David Roddy, cash
LAL: Adou Thiero

And that doesn’t appear to be all. According to ESPN, a total of 12 second round picks were moved in this deal.
This trade expansion is the cherry on top of a busy week for the Rockets, who also traded Cam Whitmore to the Washington Wizards and released backup center Jock Landale, who then signed with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Earlier this offseason, the Rockets extended Ime Udoka and Jabari Smith, re-signed Fred VanVleet and the Stay Ready Crew, signed Dorian Finney-Smith in NBA Free Agency, in addition to this crazy trade that brings them Durant and former Rocket Capela.
It’s worth noting that it appears that Houston also lost David Roddy in this convoluted mess, though the two-way player was unlikely to see any extended time with the Rockets barring a barrage of injuries. Clearly, the key outgoing components of the deal from the Rockets viewpoint were Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks.
Anyway, with the NBA trade season officially official as of today, these deals are all now etched in stone. Welcome to Houston, KD.
