The San Antonio Spurs will attempt to get their first win of summer league tonight when they take on the Golden State Warriors. The contest will take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco, which makes this a home game for Golden State’s summer league squad.
Yesterday, San Antonio fell to the Miami Heat in their summer league opener by a final score of 82-69 (see the Final Grades). The Spurs were led by David Jones-Garcia’s 18 points, however he was just 4-for-15 from the field. The team’s other double-figure scorer was Jameer Nelson, Jr, who tallied 13 points off the bench.
Dylan Harper, who the Spurs picked with the second overall selection in the 2025 NBA Draft, sat out against the Heat and will also sit out against the Warriors. Harper is expected to make his summer league debut when the squad heads to Las Vegas after playing their first three games in California.
Carter Bryant, who the Spurs selected 14th overall, played against the Heat and finished with seven points and five rebounds in 21 minutes. While he was 2-for-2 from inside of the arc, he was 1-for-6 from three-point range, turned it over three times and racked up seven personal fouls.
San Antonio Spurs Injury Update
As mentioned above, Dylan Harper will sit out tonight’s affair. He is dealing with a minor groin injury. Also on the sidelines will be Rily Minix, who is coming off of shoulder surgery.
Minix, who spent last season on a two-way contract, primarily played with the Austin Spurs. In 19 regular season games playing in the G League, the sharpshooter averaged 19.3 points per game and shot 52.8% from the field, 42.0% from three-point range and 85.3% from the free throw line.
San Antonio Spurs Starting Lineup
Against the Heat, Spurs summer league head coach Mike Noyes went with a starting five of Carter Bryant, David Jones-Garcia, Harrison Ingram, Nate Mensah and Omari Moore. It’ll be interesting to see if Noyes sticks with that fivesome. Moore struggled in the starting lineup so he’s a candidate to come off the bench against the Warriors. Also, Jameer Nelson, Jr. could have done enough to be elevated to a starting role.
Betting Guide: Spurs vs. Warriors
The Warriors are favored by 4.5 points and the over/under is 172.5 points. The smart money is on the Warriors winning by five or more points. Without Dylan Harper and Riley Minix, San Antonio will find it difficult to put points on the board once again. With the Warriors at home, they should be able to pull away from the Spurs.
