JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) - DJ Giddens defied the odds, going from a 2-star high school football recruit to NFL draft pick. Now, he’s rewarded with his own day in his home town.
According to an article in the [Junction City Post](https://jcpost.com/posts/3618d292-de31-4ea0-865e-9360e0c8f2c4), July 3rd is now DJ Giddens Day in Junction City. The proclamation was made during Tuesday’s City Commission meeting.
Giddens played football at Junction City High School before bursting on the scene at K-State. His 1,343 rushing yards in 2024 rank 7th in school history in a single season.
