Your Game Day Tradition

Last week, I asked the following question:

> _**As a**_ [_**Miami Dolphins**_](https://www.thephinsider.com/) _**fan, what traditions do you have for game day? Do you have a ritual or practice that you do before or during every game to bring the team good luck? Are there things that you just do at this point due to habit?**_

Below are some of your thoughts and answers-

**Jptapt** has a routine to listen from across the state.

> I have an orange and aqua bracelet I put on, and then I tune to Joe and Jimmy on the radio. I’m up by Tampa so we do not get to see many games. They are the best way to experience the game in my opinion anyway; they are great.

**Dolfanjoe** is another out-of-town fan who has a routine along with a shopping list.

> Not living in the State, first thing is to see if there is anyway of watching the game at home. If it is going to be a Sports Bar day, then there is prep work. 80 mile round trip trek to the bar from the woods ! This means must combine those Home depot and Wally World trips in with it ! Just need to be smart. Choose what game gear to wear. Note pad so i actually bring home what i need ! I work every other Sunday afternoon, so on those days it is bring a radio and get update’s of all the games. Home games are food, computer and a relaxing Sunday !

**JPeay** is another with a routine and a locked door.

> similarly to many others, I put on all my dolphins gear ( Jersey, hat, socks, necklace with dolphin pendant, and shorts). Make some good food, snacks, and a stiff drink. Connect my laptop to the TV and split stream the Dolphins game and whatever other good game is on (muted). Then lock myself in my room (because I get very loud lol) and I don’t leave my spot unless it’s a bathroom break. 38 year old 2nd generation Dolphins fan, and haven’t missed a game since the 1994 season when we lost in the divisional round playoffs to Stan Humphries and the San Diego [Chargers](https://www.boltsfromtheblue.com/) (I was 6 and cried like a baby lol) GO FINS!!

**finfanfromsiam** just wants to eat.

> Food spread and Go Dolphins!

**21Dave** begins his day early and then tries not to nod off.

> I wake around 6am , get dressed head to the course. Get my gambling fix on for the day, enjoy a solid 18 and then start making my way back to house. Grab some food and a shower and stuff my face and flop on the couch and see how long the Dolphins can keep me wake for. I record all Phins games in case I nod off I can go back and watch what I missed if we won. If we lost I usually delete it right away and cuss the Dolphins till Tuesday and then waiting for Sunday again.

**DolphinsKings1** has been following the same routine for over 30 years.

> For me, I start off my day every Sunday during the season like this: I live in Billings, Montana so I start with NFL Game Day on NFL Network streaming on my computer. I watch till 11am if we play at that time. Get dressed in my Tua White Jersey for home or my Aqua if they wear them. Set up my stream for the Dolphins on my computer and split the screen for NFL Red Zone stream. Sometimes I split the screen for the JiLLLLs, Yets, and \*\*\*triots if they are playing at the same time as us, so I get get live updates on injuries and scores. If not, I watch Red Zone it helps me there. Eat and Drink whatever I got and watch the games. That’s how I have been since age 12 really 43+ years and I will die a Dolphins fan.

**MIAMI235** is just working out plans on how to get slowly buzzed as the game goes along.

> Thinking of adopting a newer game day tradition.

>

> Consists of putting on a Dolphins jersey or shirt, followed by a glass of wine, then an ice cold beer in the 2nd quarter, a shot of vodka in the 3rd and and a Jack Daniel’s or Jim Beam ( probably a double by what the Team has put me through) in the 4th.

>

> \* Optional….Boilermaker if we go into Overtime.

It was another slow one, but I appreciate each of you who stops in and answers the question of the day, no matter what. It seems that we have a lot of people who follow set routines. I might ask this again during the season when we can get a much larger response.
