Pass Rushing On Tristan Wirfs Is Futile

Pass Rushing On Tristan Wirfs Is Futile

Dominant.

Joe knows who he is going to lay cash on for the NFL’s new award, “Protector of the Year.”

The NFL announced earlier this year that the league will offer an award for the NFL’s best offensive lineman during their dopey awards show at the Super Bowl.

The award will be known as “Protector of the Year.”

If whoever is deciding the recipient, if last year is any indication then it will be Bucs left tackle Tristan Wirfs.

Per the crowd at the cash-strapped 33rd Team, no tackle protects quarterbacks and kept pass rushers from their quarterback quite like Wirfs does.

It seems Wirfs has allowed the lowest pressure rate of any tackle since Wirfs came into the league in 2020. Only 2.4 percent of the snaps that Wirfs has been on the field where a pass rusher has gotten past him and put heat on a quarterback.

The only guy who has allowed fewer pressures is Kansas City center Creed Humphrey.

Unfortunately, at the time Joe is typing this here article, the lone legal sportsbook in Florida has not posted any odds on this award for the 2025 season.

If they do, Joe is dropping cash on Wirfs. Per DraftKings, Wirfs is at +1300 to win the award.

The famed SuperBook in Las Vegas, which is the plastic straw that stirs the drinks when it comes to sports odds in America, has Wirfs at 10-1 to win the award, second to Penei Sewell of the Lions.
