Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Antony in training
Ruben Amorim's players are expected to start pre-season training this week.
The Reds and some players have enjoyed the last five weeks off. Others, meanwhile, haven't had as long due to international action in mid-June and might not team up with the rest of the squad up until a later date.
In the meantime, United have been working hard attempting to get transfers over the line. Matheus Cunha became their first summer signing for £62.5million at the start of last month, and while Diego Leon has since arrived from Cerro Porteno, the club's search for their next marquee addition has been slow.
Bryan Mbeumo has been linked with a move to United but a deal hasn't so far been completed, while the club remain in the market for a new centre forward. With this in mind, Manchester Evening News has taken a look at the latest transfer news from Old Trafford...
Rashford update
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Marcus Rashford and United's plans to resolve his future. He has claimed in a post to that a new round of talks will start this week with Rashford accepting he is not part of Ruben Amorim's plans.
It has also been stated that all options are being explored. Barcelona looks to be his favoured destination with a move to the La Liga champions possible after Nico Williams' planned move from Athletic Club fell through.
MEN says: Rashford has to be sold this summer. He is not part of Amorim's plans at Old Trafford and United to recoup a sizeable fee for the 27-year-old, who is going to count as pure profit after coming through the club's academy. I think United need to get at least £40m for his signature.
I don't see that being a problem as Rashford is still a serious talent and has a lot to offer in the game, but I think his wages might be a sticking point. Barcelona, however, would be the ideal destination for him.
Antony asking price
United have reduced Antony's asking price to £30.2million as they attempt to sell the Brazilian this summer, according to Tuttomercato. Real Betis are interested in extending Antony's loan for another season, following an impressive short-term spell in Spain, but United prefer a permanent move.
Antony scored nine times and provided five assists in 26 matches for Betis during a successful loan spell during the second half of the 2024/25 season. United had put a £40m price tag on Antony's head but it now appears that they have lowered that as attempts are increased to get him off their books.
MEN says: Like Rashford, Antony has to be sold this summer. He doesn't feature as part of Amorim's plans and United would be best to cash in and cut their losses. While the Reds wanted £40m for him at first, they appear to have made the smart decision to lower their valuation and see if they can get him off their books.
For his career, a move back to Betis would be the preferred solution for Antony. He was excellent in southern Spain for the latter end of the season and got back to his best after a difficult time in Manchester.
