Leeds United have strengthened defensively and further forward thus far during this summer transfer window.
Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw bolster the backline, while Lukas Nmecha arrives as another option up front. However, the Whites have not addressed their glaring weakness from last season.
They need a new goalkeeper after Daniel Farke rightly benched Illan Meslier for Karl Darlow during the run-in. Neither should be starting at Elland Road when Everton visit on the opening weekend.
There is now reportedly some movement on that particular front. Below is a round-up of the biggest United transfer news and rumours over the weekend.
Milinkovic move
Leeds are said to have contacted Torino enquiring about Vanja Milinkovic-Savic on Sunday. They have reportedly requested information about the goalkeeper.
Sky Sport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Napoli are also monitoring the player. Milinkovic-Savic previously spent 15 months at Manchester United as a teenager but was released after not receiving a work permit.
LeedsLive: There should be no such issues registering the goalkeeper over a decade on from his debacle at Man United after spending the last three seasons playing regularly in Serie A and becoming a senior Serbia international. Leeds, however, reputedly could face competition from his former club, Manchester City, Milan, Monaco and Fiorentina.
Diouf deal
The Whites will also have to compete with Premier League rivals West Ham United if they want El Hadji Malick Diouf. Slavia Prague are said to have turned down a £17million offer from the east London club, wanting £22million.
The Sunday Mirror reports that Crystal Palace saw two bids rejected in January but have now turned their attention to buying Borna Sosa. Atalanta and Nottingham Forest are also credited with an interest in the left-sided player.
LeedsLive says: After missing out on Habib Diarra to Sunderland, Leeds are now credited with an interest in his fellow Senegal international. However, with the Whites edging closer to finalising a deal for Gabriel Gudmundsson, filling their void on the left at around half that quoted price seems the shrewder business.
