Philippe Coutinho has departed Aston Villa to join Vasco da Gama on a permanent basis.
The Brazilian international playmaker departs Villa Park three and a half years after first arriving and has spent the last year on loan at his boyhood club where he spent nine years.
Capped over 60 times for the Selecao, 33 year old Coutinho left the Brazilian club as a teenager to join Serie A outfit Inter Milan and spent loans back at Vasco da Gama and Espanyol ahead of a move to Liverpool in 2013.
Five successful years with the Merseyside giants ended with Barcelona reportedly agreeing terms on a transfer worth over €100 million. Eighteen months later, he was on the move again, joining Bayern Munich on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.
January 2022 saw Coutinho return to English football as he went to Villa initially on loan ahead of a permanent move in the summer. Qatari outfit Al- Duhail was the destination for a temporary deal in 2023/24 ahead of his initial return to Brazil.
