Nottingham Forest seal huge deal as player puts pen to paper

Ola Aina is said to have signed a new long-term deal at Nottingham Forest.

The Nigeria international has put pen to paper on a contract until 2028 at the City Ground, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Aina follows fellow defender Neco Williams in committing to the club, who have worked hard on tying down some of their key assets this year.

Defender Murillo and striker Chris Wood signed new deals earlier in the year while head coach Nuno Espirito Santo penned a new three-year contract last month.

Williams agreed fresh terms until 2029 last week and hinted at more positive contract news.

Announcing his new contract, the right-back said on Instagram: “I’m delighted to announce I’ve signed a new 4 year contract with @officialnffc. Grateful for the trust the club has shown in me and the support from everyone around me!

“The work doesn’t stop here. Excited for what’s ahead this season in Europe and the Premier League.”

Williams’ post attracted plenty of responses from his Forest teammates, along with some former colleagues. Anthony Elanga, Ryan Yates, Matz Sels, Harry Toffolo and Brennan Johnson were among those to send good wishes.

Aina also replied and hailed the ‘FB UNION’. Posting a winking emoji, Williams responded: “You next?”

Likewise, there was a hint Callum Hudson-Odoi could soon put pen to paper. The winger replied with some flame emojis and Williams said: “Your turn now.”

Aina and Hudson-Odoi have both attracted attention from other clubs amid their contract situations. The latter has been linked with AC Milan, Napoli, Roma and Manchester United. Meanwhile, Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Roma, AC Milan, Besiktas and Galatasaray have been credited with interest in Aina.
