Last month, Africa Foot reported Wolverhampton Wanderers and Trabzonspor are in the picture to sign Stade Rennais’ Christopher Wooh this summer. They also said the Premier League club are ready to offer €5m for him.
Recent claims from Turkey have stated the Turkish club have agreed a €5m fee with Stade Rennais.
Last week, Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Doğan said they have reached an agreement the Ligue 1 club, but Wooh wants to go to the Premier League.
A fresh report from Africa Foot state the defender has put Trabzonspor’s bid on hold as he’s not prioritising a move to Turkey.
The 23-year-old’s desire is to continue in the top five European leagues and Vítor Pereira’s side or VfB Stuttgart can help him fulfil it this summer. Africa Foot state ‘particularly Wolves appear to have made good progress’ to sign the centre-back.
The Cameroon international’s contract expires in 2026 and he wants to leave the Ligue 1 club this summer. Wooh’s decision to put Trabzonspor on hold clearly provides the English club encouragement to try and secure his services.
All parties seem to be in favour of transfer and Wolves have to find an agreement with the French club and Wooh to conclude the operation.
