Martin Ho returns to WSL as Tottenham Hotspur Women Head Coach

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the appointment of Martin Ho as the new Head Coach of their Women’s team, succeeding Robert Vilahamn. Ho joins from Norwegian side SK Brann. This marks his return to the Women’s Super League, having previously spent four seasons with Manchester United Women, where he helped the team to a second-place finish in the WSL and a spot in the FA Cup Final during the 2022/23 campaign.

Further updates on Martin Ho’s coaching staff will be announced in due course.

Martin Ho Coaching Highlights

Before joining Manchester United, Ho began his coaching career in Everton’s boys’ academy and later became assistant manager of Everton Women. He then moved to Liverpool, where he served as head coach of the U21 women’s team.

In 2020, Ho joined Casey Stoney’s coaching staff at Manchester United Women, stepping in as assistant coach following Glen Harris’s retirement at the end of the 2019/20 season. His time at United ended in 2023 when he took over at SK Brann. Ho made an immediate impact, leading the team to win all four of their UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying matches and securing a place in the group stage in his debut season.

Brann went on to reach the quarter-finals, finishing second in a group featuring Slavia Praha, St. Pölten, and OL Lyonnes. They were eventually knocked out by FC Barcelona, losing 5–2 on aggregate. The following season, Ho once again qualified Brann for the Women’s Champions League with a second-place league finish and led the team to the semi-finals of the Norwegian Cup. As of now, the 2025 season is still in progress, with SK Brann currently sitting in second place.

What Martin Ho had to say

“I’m absolutely delighted. After having a conversation with Andy, Rebecca, Vinai – and obviously Daniel – it’s been really important for me to understand the Club. I think it’s very authentic in its own way.

“[It’s a] forward-thinking, positive club, one that wants to make a difference, but wants to do it in their own way. It’s been vital for me to understand the depths of the Club and where they want to go with the Women’s team. I’ve understood that clearly and I’m really excited.”
