Duran joined Al-Nassr of the Saudi Pro League in the final days of the January window, ending a two-year stay in the Premier League.
But the 21-year-old Colombia international has now swapped Saudi Arabia for Turkey after joining Fenerbahce, who are managed by Jose Mourinho, on a season-long loan.
Duran scored 12 goals in 29 matches for Villa in the first half of last season, including an iconic winner in their 1-0 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich.
But an increasingly frayed relationship with boss Unai Emery meant Villa decided to cash in when Al-Nassr came calling with a lucrative offer.
Though the striker enjoyed a strong start in the Middle East, scoring 12 goals in 18 appearances, he will spend next season at least in Turkey.
“Our club has reached an agreement with both the club and the player for Jhon Duran to join our squad on a one-year loan," said Fenerbahce in a statement.
"We wish our player a season full of success under our striped jersey."
Duran joined Villa from Chicago Fire for £18m in January 2023, with 61 of his 78 total appearances for the club coming from the bench as he struggled to displace Ollie Watkins up front.
