Liverpool will air a special TV program to honor Diogo Jota on LFCTV on Monday as the channel resumes broadcasting following the Portuguese player's tragic passing.
At just 28 years of age, Jota died in a car accident along with his brother, Andre Silva, in the early hours of Thursday morning (July 3). The siblings were making their way across Spain to board a ferry bound for England, in time for Liverpool's pre-season kick-off, when their car left the roadway due to a burst tire.
The funeral service for Jota and Silva took place on Saturday (July 5), in their native city of Gondomar, with Liverpool's senior staff, led by Arne Slot, and the majority of the players showing their respect at the ceremony.
As LFCTV takes a break from its regular schedule, the channel is displaying a heartfelt homage to Jota. Accompanying a monochrome image of the striker making a heart sign with his hands appears the club's solemn statement about the passing of Jota and Silva.
It states: "Diogo Jota 1996-2025. Liverpool Football Club are devastated by the tragic passing of Diogo Jota. The 28-year-old passed away following a road traffic accident in Spain, along with his brother, Andre.
"Liverpool FC requests the privacy of Diogo and Andre's family, friends, teammates and club staff is respected as they try to come to terms with an unimaginable loss.

The channel has intermittently aired the brief tribute video, lasting three minutes and 34 seconds, that the club shared on its social media channels on Thursday night.
However, the ECHO reports that LFCTV will resume broadcasting on Monday evening with a special program dedicated to Jota, titled 'Remembering Diogo: Our number 20'.
Kicking off at 6pm (UK time), the show's blurb states: "Join us at Anfield as we remember Diogo Jota, our lad from Portugal, who will be so greatly missed."

This hour-long homage will be followed by a half-hour montage of all 65 goals scored by Jota for the club. Entitled 'Diogo Jota: All the Goals', the episode's synopsis says: "Remember the impact Diogo made on us as we run through every one of his 65 Liverpool goals."
LFCTV will also broadcast 15-minute highlights from Liverpool's Merseyside derby triumph over Everton at Anfield last season — a match where Jota netted his final goal for the club, which also clinched the 1-0 victory edging the Reds closer to the Premier League title.
Starting at 9.45pm (UK time), this will be succeeded by a repeat of the day's earlier tribute show at 10pm. The Liverpool players are due to return to the AXA Training Centre for pre-season preparations on Tuesday (July 8).
