The first group of Man Utd players are due back at Carrington on Monday morning.
Manchester United have granted Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot extended leave after they both attended the funeral of Diogo Jota over the weekend. Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, died in the early hours of Thursday morning when the vehicle they were in left the road due to a tyre blowout while overtaking.
The United pair were among those who attended the funeral of the Liverpool forward on Saturday as they paid respects to their close friend and Portugal teammate. His death came just weeks after they all helped their national side win the Nations League with a victory over Spain.
Liverpool delayed their return to pre-season training from last Friday to Monday, while the first group of United players are also due back at Carrington today. It is understood Fernandes and Dalot have both been granted the full week off, with United’s international players not expected back until Thursday anyway.
