Chelsea will have their sights set on the FIFA Club World Cup final ahead of their semi-final clash with Fluminense on Tuesday.
The Blues defeated Palmeiras 2-1 in the quarter-finals, and their reward for reaching the last four of the competition is a tie against Palmeiras’ domestic rivals Fluminense, which will see former Chelsea captain Thiago Silva face the Blues for the first time since departing Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Maresca’s side haven’t been at their best during the tournament so far, but they will be favourites to win their semi-final and reach the final, where they would face either Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain or Spanish giants Real Madrid.
New signing Joao Pedro made his debut for the Blues against Palmeiras, and the forward could be handed his first start on Tuesday.
Now, though, it appears that the West London side are interested in yet another young star.
According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea are one of a number of Premier League clubs monitoring Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini.

The report claims that Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also all interested in the centre-back, who has impressed for Atalanta in recent seasons.
Having joined Atalanta’s academy as a teenager, Scalvini has since progressed into the first team and made more than 100 appearances for the club across all competitions.
Scalvini featured just eight times for Atalanta last term after suffering a cruciate ligament injury, and the report claims that the defender could be available for a fee of around £51 million this summer.
As well as the quartet of interested Premier League clubs, the report suggests that Serie A giants Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan are all also keeping tabs on the player’ situation.
Scalvini’s current contract with Atalanta is set to expire in the summer of 2028.
