Evan Ferguson spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham. The striker is now back at Brighton but his exit is a possibility.
Corriere della Sera report AS Roma are looking at various profiles to improve their attack.
While they have spoken to the entourage of Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca and also see Rennes’ Arnaud Kalimuendo and Lyon’s Georges Mikautadze as targets, Brighton’s Ferguson is on the shortlist.
The newspaper states that after a bad loan spell at West Ham, Ferguson is thought to be attracted by the idea of playing in Serie A and relaunching his career.
Roma are in the market for affordable options and Udinese’s asking price for Lucca is €40m. That is proving too much and is why they see Ferguson as a viable alternative.
Brighton’s asking price for the striker is unknown, it would have once been out of Roma’s reach, but 20-year-old played only eight times for the Hammers last season and his market value has collapsed.
Roma perhaps see a player they can rebuild in Italy, and their Everton connections shouldn’t be forgotten.
