Nottingham Forest 'set their sights' on €60m Ballon d'Or nominee

Nottingham Forest are ‘monitoring’ Ademola Lookman’s situation with Atalanta, according to a report.

Spanish website Fichajes reckons Forest are among three Premier League clubs to have ‘set their sights’ on the Londoner who has been a revelation with the Serie A outfit.

The Reds are named alongside Aston Villa and Tottenham and ‘could try to sign him in the coming months’, as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to add depth and quality to a squad that will come under more strain than in a very long time next season.

Forest are going to have to combine Premier and Europa Conference League campaigns next term, and that’s even before you factor in considerations such as Newcastle United’s interest in Anthony Elanga.

However, suggestions he could be a replacement for the Sweden international don’t seem quite right given the fact Lookman has played mostly as a No. 10, second striker or even a centre forward in his three seasons in Italy.

He has, of course, played left winger many, many times during a career that has taken him from Charlton Athletic to Everton, to RB Leipzig and now Atalanta, via loan spells with Fulham and Leicester City.

But it is Bergamo where he has really thrived, scoring 15 times and adding five assists in 31 games last term. In all he has bagged 52 goals in 118 games for Atalanta. He was nominated for the Ballon D'Or last season, as Atalanta won the Europa League in 2024.

The report says Atalanta could be willing to cash in if an offer between €45-60million comes in and that ‘everything points’ to a return to the Premier League.
