Everton have had nine permanent managers in nine years, with Farhad Moshiri’s reign very scattergun.
Perhaps Moshiri’s biggest mistake was sacking Marco Silva, who is now regarded as one of the best managers in the Premier League.
Silva has been linked to big jobs, with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur among those showing an interest over the last 12 months or so.
Sean Dyche, on the other hand, took Everton as far as he could, and now David Moyes is proving that there’s much more ability in this current squad than the former Burnley manager claimed.
Six months on from Dyche’s sacking, he is now being linked with the Leicester City job.

Former Everton manager Sean Dyche interviewed by Leicester City
Leicester City parted company with Ruud van Nistelrooy last month after suffering relegation from the Premier League.
Former Everton midfielder Lee Carsley has already rejected the Leicester job, as he’s committed his future to the FA with England’s under-21s.
However, according to Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett, Dyche has been ‘interviewed’ to potentially take the reins at the King Power Stadium.

Chris Wilder and Sheffield Wednesday’s Danny Rohl are also contenders, so it seems Dyche has his work cut out to land the job.
Dyche may wait for Premier League opening
There is a scenario where Dyche decides to snub Leicester and wait for a Premier League job, just as he did when he left Burnley.
The 54-year-old bided his time for nine months, snubbing interest from the second tier, before Everton brought him in to steer them away from relegation.
Dyche may feel he is in a similar position, having got through difficult circumstances on Merseyside, or perhaps the end of his tenure may have damaged his reputation somewhat at the top level.
Time will tell.
