The Green Bay Packers are entering Year 3 of Jordan Love as their full-time starter. Love has shown he can be a capable leader under center for the Packers, even when considering the fact that he succeeded an all-time great in the form of Aaron Rodgers.
Nevertheless, Love is still not quite on the level where he can be considered among the true legit guys in the position.
Having signed a massive four-year contract extension worth $220 million with Green Bay in 2024 also added pressure on the shoulders of the former Utah State Aggies star signal-caller to deliver the Packers to bigger success in the NFL playoffs.
Making the postseason with Love as the QB1 isn’t going to be enough for the Packers, especially with the lofty standards the historic franchise has set before.

In an article recently published by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Love was listed as one of the players who are either on the hot seat or could be on one soon.
“He’s not on the hot seat per se, but he needs to play better in 2025 than he did in 2024,” Florio wrote. “If not, he will be on the hot seat in 2026. The wild card in Green Bay is new CEO Ed Policy, who operates as the de facto owner of the team.”
The Packers are moving on from Packers CEO Mark Murphy, who is set to retire and will be replaced by Ed Policy. This shift can also change how the Packers view Love, especially if he doesn’t live up to his big contract in 2025.
In 2024, Love passed for 3,389 yards and 25 touchdowns against 11 interceptions on a 63.1 percent pass completion rate through 15 games.
