Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has been linked with a move to Leeds United this summer.
With the pending arrival of Gabriel Gudmundsson, Leeds have worked wonders so far this summer to bolster their defensive line-up ahead of their return to the Premier League.
However, the next objective will be to achieve the same with their forward line, amid links to Newcastle’s Wilson.
The veteran forward has been linked with several clubs amid the uncertainty over his future in the North East, with an official announcement imminent.

Newcastle set to announce Wilson exit
If Daniel Farke is to find success with the Whites in the top flight this season, he needs to be able to rely on players to get the goals to win them games.

Nikola Krstovic is one to have been linked to satisfy those requirements, as is Wilson, who looks set to leave the Magpies this summer.

Fabrizio Romano posted via X (7 July) that the Newcastle forward will depart the club as a result of his contract expiring, leaving him free to negotiate a free transfer elsewhere.
Leeds are strong suitors, though any move may depend on his wage demands, given the fact that he has struggled with injuries over the last few years, ultimately ending his stay in the North East.

Leeds need Premier League experience
Quality wins games, but experience can often play just as crucial a role for a team’s chances of avoiding the drop back into the Championship.
Leeds need a blend of both, though their recruitment so far has been weighted towards the former, and the addition of Wilson would go a long way to rectifying the latter.
As for any contract, it remains to be seen whether Leeds pursue a deal, though if a pay-as-you-play deal can be struck, it may be one too hard to turn down for the Whites if the price is right.
