Liverpool FC’s in-house channel, LFCTV, will officially return to broadcast this evening for the first time since the tragic loss of club icon Diogo Jota.
On Monday, July 7, fans around the world can tune in for a dedicated tribute show – an evening designed to celebrate the life, career and enduring legacy of the No. 20.
Moments of silence and black-and-white imagery have marked LFCTV’s off-air slate since Jota and his brother André Silva were killed in a road accident on July 3.
Now, at 7:00 PM BST, the channel will air “Remembering Diogo: Our Number 20,” a programme that promises an emotional journey through Jota’s rise from Pacos de Ferreira to Anfield hero
The tribute special will feature:
A compilation of Jota’s finest Liverpool moments—from his debut strike against Arsenal in 2020 to his last-gasp derby winner versus Everton.
Personal messages from teammates, managers and youth players.
Insights from coaches and club staff on how Jota’s commitment laid foundations both on and off the pitch.
Fan-recorded tributes and match-day chants that illuminated Anfield whenever he wore red.
Starting at 6pm BST, the show is described: “Join us at Anfield as we remember Diogo Jota, our lad from Portugal, who will be so greatly missed.”
Liverpool FC have requested privacy for Jota’s family, friends and club staff during this period of mourning, while extending gratitude for the global outpouring of support.
Tonight’s LFCTV special will not only honour Jota’s achievements – 73 goals in 182 appearances for the Reds – but also the spirit of togetherness he embodied, on and off the field.
For international viewers, LFCTVGO will stream the tribute live. Supporters unable to join the broadcast in real time can access an on-demand replay in the channel’s schedule later in the night.
