Report: West Ham now want to sign £50m star after Tottenham learn true Mohammed Kudus asking price

Tottenham Hotspur have just had a third bid rejected for West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus.

Mohammed Kudus has made it clear that he would like to leave West Ham for Tottenham this summer, and in truth, it seems like a good time for Graham Potter’s side to cash in.

West Ham have several areas of their squad to address and selling Kudus would help provide the funds to do so.

To that end, TBR Football recently reported that West Ham could sell Kudus for less than £60m if Spurs make the right type of offer — David Sullivan isn’t interested in unrealistic add-ons.

Tottenham recently bid £50m plus £12.5m in additions, but some of those were on the provision of Spurs winning the league title or even the Champions League.

West Ham want Ademola Lookman if Mohammed Kudus goes to Spurs

That being said, Sky Sports in Switzerland are now reporting that West Ham want to replace Kudus with Atalanta star Ademola Lookman.

Lookman has previously been valued at around the £50m mark, and reports in Italy suggest that Atalanta would demand a similar sum for the 27-year-old this summer.

According to Sky Sports’ report, Lookman has made it clear that he wants to leave Italy in order to return to England.

And if Kudus does move to Tottenham, West Ham now see Lookman as their ‘priority’ move.

Of course, the former Charlton Athletic, Everton, Fulham and Leicester City star has made serious progress since switching RB Leipzig for Italy in 2022.

And Lookman’s 20 goals in 40 appearances last season demonstrate why the versatile forward has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or in recent years.

Lookman suffered one of the worst moments of his career against West Ham

As mentioned, Lookman made 35 appearances for Fulham whilst on loan from RB Leipzig in the 2020/21 season, when he wasn’t quite able to inspire survival for Scott Parker’s side.

And in terms of Lookman’s contributions for Fulham that season, which were very impressive otherwise, the winger was unfortunately remembered for a penalty against West Ham.

In a crucial match in Fulham’s bid for survival, Lookman chose a panenka penalty — one that always looks so poor when it doesn’t go in.

Of course, Lookman is a much more accomplished player by this point, and he’s definitely the kind of profile who can help Jarrod Bowen lift West Ham back towards success.

And if Kudus does head to north London, Lookman could prove a real coup for West Ham.

Arsenal have made contact about signing Lookman recently, a player who has a point to prove in England.
