Man United target keen to return to Premier League

Manchester United travel to the United States of America later this months for a pre-season tour ahead of the new campaign.

Ruben Amorim’s side face rivals Leeds United in Stockholm on July 19, before travelling to face Premier League rivals West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton during a week-long tour of the US.

When they return to England, the Red Devils will face Spanish side Athletic Bilbao at Old Trafford, before beginning their Premier League campaign by hosting Arsenal.

In the meantime, it has emerged that one of United’s transfer targets is keen to move back to England.

According to TBR Football, Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz – who has attracted interest from United – is keen to return to the Premier League.

The Brazilian joined Juventus from Aston Villa last summer after a successful spell at Villa Park, but he struggled to establish himself as a regular starter during his debut season in Italy.

In total the 27-year-old started just three Serie A matches and made just 27 appearances across all competitions.

The report claims that the central midfielder is now keen to leave Turin after just a year with his current club, and his preference would be to return to the Premier League.

As well as United, Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in the Brazil international, who has been capped 18 times by his country.

It is claimed that United and Spurs have been in talks with Juventus about Jadon Sancho and Yves Bissouma respectively, and Luiz has also been mentioned during discussions.

The ex-Villa man is under contract until the end of the 2028/29 campaign, but the report appears to suggest that he could depart Turin this summer.
