Davide Calabria had a positive loan spell at Bologna in the second half of the 2024/25 season and, likely thanks to that, Crystal Palace have now emerged as an option for the full-back.
The defender was heavily criticised in his last few months at the San Siro but he played a key role in helping Bologna win the Coppa Italia title, as the Rossoblu also qualified for the Europa League. He’s currently a free agent, as his contract at Milan expired at the end of June.
Gianluca di Marzio reports Crystal Palace are ‘very interested’ in the Italian and it’s stated they could turn that interest into a decisive move in the next few hours.
Calabria has never played outside of Italy and Crystal Palace can become his first destination away from the Italian top-flight.
Oliver Glasner’s side are facing competition from Celta Vigo, Real Betis and Mallorca, although it sounds like interest from the Premier League club is the most recent development.
