£250,000-a-week star wants to join Arsenal with Gyokeres, waiting for clubs to agree deal -…

Real Madrid star Rodrygo would prefer to join a Premier League club this summer, and Arsenal are his ‘absolute priority’, according to club insider HandofArsenal.

The Brazilian forward has no shortage of suitors amid growing uncertainty over his future in the Spanish capital, and he has recently received an approach from Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr.

However, despite the opportunity to join forces with Cristiano Ronaldo, Rodrygo is believed to favour staying in Europe, with a move to the Premier League his preference.

Arsenal are understood to have earmarked the £250,000-a-week winger as one of their top targets in their winger search, with Chelsea ace Noni Madueke also on the shortlist.

According to HandofArsenal, whose reporting has been cited by Fabrizio Romano in the past, Saudi clubs have been informed that Rodrygo is targeting a move to the Premier League this summer, with Arsenal as his ‘absolute priority’.

Arsenal are anticipating a busy final two months of the transfer window, having announced goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and midfielder Martin Zubimendi as their first signings last week.

The Gunners are also on the verge of completing deals for another midfielder, Christian Norgaard, while talks continue for Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera.

Mikel Arteta’s side are also expected to recruit at least two new forwards, with a left-sided winger and a number nine high on the agenda.

Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres is now likely to join, with advanced talks ongoing for the 26-year-old's Emirates arrival.
