Everton face frustration in pursuit of 13-goal Championship attacker as Serie A club make…

Italian club Parma have approached Millwall for the services of Mihailo Ivanovic amid interest from Premier League side Everton.

According to a report from Football Insider, David Moyes’ Everton have been left frustrated in their pursuit of Millwall attacking sensation Mihailo Ivanovic, as Parma have made an approach to sign the Serbian striker ahead of next season.

Ivanovic came up the ranks and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining the Championship outfit last summer in a deal worth £2.8 million. He had a sensational debut season in England’s second tier.

The 20-year-old was involved in a total of 40 matches across competitions, and he ended up finding the back of the net on 13 occasions. He was in red-hot form under Alex Neil, who replaced former boss Neil Harris towards the end of last year.

Can Everton beat Parma to Ivanovic’s signature?

His impressive performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs from across Europe. Everton are one of the clubs that are keen on signing the young forward. The Toffees are looking for more firepower in the final third.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin leaving the club, David Moyes needs more options up top, and he feels Ivanovic could help their cause. While the Merseyside club are keen on his signature, they are not the ones leading the race.

Parma seem to be front-runners at this stage as they have already made an approach for the Millwall striker. The Serie A club are looking for a new number nine after selling Ange-Yoan Bonny to rivals Inter Milan.

They see Ivanovic as an ideal replacement and can offer the 20-year-old a very important role in the team, something that Moyes might not be able to guarantee him. While Millwall can’t really stand in his way, his departure will be a massive blow for them as they were looking to push for promotion next season.

If they do sanction his departure, the Championship outfit will have to look for someone who can help them cope with his loss. While Everton face frustration in their pursuit, they haven’t lost the race just yet and could certainly try to beat Parma to his signature.
