Former Arsenal ace tipped for Leeds United move

As Leeds United gear up for their return to the Premier League, the club recognises the urgent need to reinforce key areas of the squad to ensure they can compete and survive in the top flight next season.

With the transfer window in full swing, Elland Road is expected to remain a hub of activity in the coming weeks.

While there is a general understanding within the club that multiple signings are needed to add depth and quality, Leeds have identified priority positions that require immediate attention.

The attack has been strengthened with the free transfer arrival of Lukas Nmecha. The club has also turned its focus to defensive reinforcements, completing deals for Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw to shore up the backline.

Leeds United need a better goalkeeper

The Whites have struggled in the goalkeeping department recently due to the disappointing form of Illan Meslier.

Former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson has urged the newly promoted side to sign an experienced goalkeeper.

“Aaron Ramsdale, I’ve gone on record before, I’d love to see him go to Leeds”, Robinson told Football Insider.

“For Ramsdale, I’m not sure at this stage of his career, with the World Cup coming up and wanting to get back into the England reckoning, that a move to Rangers would be ideal.

“For Rangers, I don’t see that being a priority when they’ve got a goalkeeper of Butland’s quality.”

The former Arsenal goalkeeper is a proven goalkeeper at the top level. Despite having few relegations on his CV, he shown his talent at the biggest stage.

Leeds realise that they need a solid addition in that department and someone like Ramsdale could be ideal for them with his quality of saving shots, playing from the back and being a reliable presence behind the defensive line.

Lyon’s Lucas Perri is one of the names being linked with a move to Elland Road this summer and even though he would be a decent choice for them, Rasmdale would tick all the boxes.
