Everton must continue to prioritise quality youth development
Everton must prioritise robust youth development under the new ownership to secure long-term success and sustainability.
A strong academy system cultivates talented players who can either contribute to the first team or generate significant transfer revenue, as seen with homegrown stars like Wayne Rooney.
Investing in youth reduces reliance on expensive signings, ensuring financial stability, especially under Financial Fair Play constraints.
A well-structured academy fosters the Toffees’ identity, producing players attuned to their values and passionate about the badge, which resonates with fans.
Additionally, successful youth development enhances the club’s reputation, attracting top young prospects and it’s something The Friedkin Group must emphasise.
By nurturing talent, they can build a competitive squad, maintain financial health and establish a legacy of excellence for decades.
