Nicolás Tagliafico came to the end of his Lyon contract last month and the 32-year-old is now able to choose his next destination.
Whilst he’s obviously moving towards the latter years of his career, the left-back made 33 appearances for Lyon last season, playing the full 90 minutes in most of those. He’s still an Argentina international, has been a regular in their current World Cup qualifying campaign and has never had a major injury layoff.
All of that is encouraging interest, with Everton, West Ham, AS Roma and Sevilla all said to be keen.
[Marca](https://www.marca.com/futbol/mercado-fichajes/2025/07/07/tagliafico-le-escapa-oviedo-interes-roma-sevilla-everton-westham.html) report Tagliafico is slipping away from Oviedo, who had also been interested, with it felt they can’t compete with Everton, West Ham and the others. Roma are thought to be especially well placed, and Everton also being credited with interest may indicate the player is a Freidkin Group idea.
The World Cup winner started his career in his home country, there was a brief loan to Spanish club Real Murcia, and then he moved Ajax before ending up at Lyon.
