Massimiliano Allegri has officially confirmed that Real Madrid veteran and captain Luka Modric will join AC Milan this summer.
At this point, it is no secret that the 39-year-old midfielder will be leaving Los Blancos once the FIFA Club World Cup comes to an end.
Modric’s contract was set to expire on June 30, but the club agreed a short extension until the end of the Club World Cup.
A move to Milan has been agreed for some time now and Allegri has confirmed the timeframe of the Croatian midfielder’s arrival.

In his first press conference as manager of the Rossoneri, the Italian coach stated:
“We are waiting for Luka Modric. He will arrive in August. He is an important, extraordinary player. He needs no introduction.”
Modric is determined to remain at a top-level European club as he prepares for the 2026 GIGA World Cup, and Milan, who showed interest from the moment it became clear he would not continue at Real Madrid, have secured his commitment.
The Croatian international, who turns 40 in September, hopes to reach the World Cup in the United States before possibly considering retirement.
For now, he remains in the USA with Real Madrid, where new manager Xabi Alonso has given him playing time in every match of the Club World Cup, hoping to end his time at the club with another trophy.
