Details Consuming Jacob Parrish

Rookie cornerback Jacob Parrish.
The greater Topeka, Kansas region is its own TV market and they love their Kansas State players.
So it’s no surprise that Bucs rookie cornerback Jacob Parrish is a popular guy out there. He grew up nearby and spent three season at Kansas State University.
The local CBS TV affiliate hustled a reporter out to talk to the Buccaneer’s third-round pick last week while he was coaching up kids at a youth camp. No, the participants were not outfitted in Bucs gear, and the local mayor didn’t sing the virtues of Bucs fandom in the heart of Chiefs kingdom.
Parrish, a man of faith who comes across as a very serious dude, said he’s had a “crazy” couple of months and things are going well for him with the Bucs.
He seems to be very much in the Derrick Brooks school of football development: Be on the daily details and improve incrementally and consistently.
“Just soaking it in, trying to learn from the [Bucs] vets. But you know, I’m just blessed I’m there and I’m trying to make an impact,“ Parrish told WIBW. ”Every little detail matters. Attention to detail, just everything you do, man, it all comes together. How I approach every single day is the same, just trying to focus on the little things that can help me on Sundays.”
As of today, it seems the nickel cornerback job is Parrish’s to lose. He’s got playmaker-level speed and Bucs officials like his instincts. Can he translate that to NFL reality when the pads come on? Unclear.
