Everton Women are preparing for another season in the Women’s Super League after their late resurgence last season.

The Blues finished eighth in the WSL in 2024-25, 14 points above 12th-placed Crystal Palace.

The Friedkins Group have indicated that they are putting more focus on improving the Everton Women’s team as they aim to push on ahead of next season.

Everton Women have already made three signings this summer, and their latest transfer target could prove useful in their goal to climb the table.

Everton closing in on loan move for Katie Robinson

Everton Women’s focus last season was on remaining in the Women’s Super League, but the latest signings are showing that the Friedkins intends to make the Toffees a regular in the WSL.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The new ownership have already brought multiple new faces through the door at Goodison Park this summer.

And another name has now been linked with a switch to Everton as, according to BBC Sport (7 July), the Toffees are closing in on an agreement to sign England winger Katie Robinson on loan from Aston Villa.

The move would include an option to buy for Sorenson’s team, with all parties confident of an agreement, with Robinson planning to carry out a medical in Merseyside on Wednesday (9 July).

The 22-year-old joined Villa on a free transfer from Brighton in 2024 and will become a free agent at the end of next season.

She was the youngest member of Sarina Wiegman’s Lionesses squad that reached the Women’s World Cup final in 2023, but has struggled since leaving the Seagulls.

Robinson made just 16 appearances in all competitions for Villa last season and will be looking to rediscover her form for Everton next season.

Friedkins are going above and beyond at Everton

After taking over on Merseyside, the Friedkins Group hasn’t taken long to win over fans at Everton.

By prioritising the women’s team so much, they have shown just how committed they are to improving the Toffees as a whole.

If both the women’s and the men’s teams can be improved next season, Everton could bring in extra income and be fighting towards the top of both leagues.
