El Hadji Malick Diouf appears set to be on the move this summer amid links to Leeds United and West Ham.

The defender has three more years left on his deal at Slavia Prague, but he may have played his last game for them.

They signed the Senegal international in January 2024, and he has been a first-team regular since then.

Diouf trains away from Slavia Prague teammates as exit imminent

Slavia Prague boss Jindrich Trpisovsky expects Diouf to find a new club in the current transfer window.

The left-back is training away from his teammates as the Czech outfit appear to be protecting him from an injury.

If he faces a fitness setback, that may jeopardise his transfer and prevent Prague from making money for him.

While it seems like Trpisovsky and the hierarchy want him to stay, his desire is to leave the club in the coming weeks.

LeedsLive claim that the Whites are keen on signing Diouf and quoted the Slavia Prague manager about the player’s future.

He said: “[The situation] is still the same. We all suspect that a transfer will happen, it’s just a matter of time. Malick has an individual program, we don’t want anything to happen.

“He is a player who has extraordinary quality, he will have it in the future. Slavia’s demands need to be satisfied. We take it as we are without him.”

Leeds United need a better Junior Firpo replacement

Diouf, while a versatile and promising talent from Slavia Prague, may not be the ideal replacement for Junior Firpo at Elland Road.

The Senegalese’s limited experience in top-tier European leagues raises concerns about his readiness for the Premier League’s intensity, unlike Firpo, who has proven himself in both La Liga and the Championship.

Diouf’s 50 appearances, 9 goals, and 4 assists for Slavia Prague show potential, but his lack of consistent top-flight exposure makes him a riskier choice.

Leeds United, aiming to solidify their defence post-promotion, should target a more experienced left-back, like Gabriel Gudmundsson, to ensure reliability and immediate impact.
