Aston Villa have confirmed their two final pre-season friendlies of the summer.

Villa have will play Marseille on Saturday, August 9 (6pm UK), before then taking on Villarreal the following day on Sunday, August 10 (8pm UK).

Unai Emery’s side will play a total of eight games before the start of the new campaign, but it’s likely that two different squads will line-up against Marseille and Villarreal.

That means Emery will be in line to return to the Estadio de la Ceramica, while Pau Torres may also head to the stadium which he played at before signing for the club.

Boubacar Kamara could head back to the Stade Velodrome for the first of Villa’s pre-season games on that weekend having joined on a free transfer from the French club in the summer of 2022.

Before facing Eintracht Frankfurt, St. Louis City, and Nashville SC in the U.S., Villa will play Walsall next Wednesday and then Hansa Rostock in Germany on the Saturday.

AS Roma - who Villa could also meet in next season’s Europa League - will play at the Bescot Stadium on Wednesday, August 6.

Here are Villa’s pre-season friendlies…

Walsall at Bescot Stadium, Walsall (July 16)

Hansa Rostock at Ostseestadion (July 19)

Eintracht Frankfurt at Lynn Family Stadium, Kentucky (July 26)

St. Louis City SC at Energizer Park (July 30)
