Manchester United's pre-season preparations commenced at Carrington on Monday, marking the beginning of the countdown to the 2025/26 campaign.
New signings Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon were among the players that reported back to the club's training ground for the start of Ruben Amorim's first pre-season as United head coach.
United confirmed 15 first-team players were in attendance, including the likes of Andre Onana, Matthijs de Ligt, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount and Amad.
Just like in previous years, players' returns will be staggered. Those who were called up for international duty at the end of last season, such as Rasmus Hojlund and Casemiro, are scheduled to return to Carrington to begin their pre-season preparations on Thursday.
In normal circumstances, both Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes would have also been poised to report back to the club's training complex later this week after helping Portugal win the Nations League last month. However, they have been granted the rest of the week off following the tragic death of international teammate Diogo Jota last week.
Jota died alongside his brother, Andre Silva, in Spain last Thursday after he was involved in a road traffic accident. Both Dalot and Fernandes attended the former Liverpool forward's funeral in Portugal on Saturday and have been given leave by United.
Elsewhere, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Antony were all missing from training on Monday and are not expected to report back to Carrington until later this month.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News last Friday, the quintet have informed United they want to leave the club in this summer's transfer window to explore opportunities elsewhere.
United will not stand in the way of those five amid their desire to leave Old Trafford. The Reds identified Rashford, Sancho and Antony as priority sales in May.
They have all been granted time to explore options away from Old Trafford. It is understood they will return to Carrington later in July if their futures are not resolved beforehand.
