Arsenal plan bids for 2 more players as well as Gyokeres

In addition to their current pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal are also planning bids for Cristhian Mosquera and Eberechi Eze, according to reports.

Simon Jones reports for the Daily Mail that Arsenal intend to make a new bid for Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera, and the Gunners are also planning an offer for Crystal Palace player Eberechi Eze.

Las Provincias in Spain write that Arsenal are preparing their final offensive to sign Mosquera, with Valencia unable to come close to the Gunners’ salary proposal to the player.

Meanwhile, Ed Aarons, Will Unwin, and Jacob Steinberg confirm for The Guardian that Arsenal are expected to step up their interest in Eze following a meeting with his representatives last weekend.

The situation with Mosquera is relatively advanced, with the player very keen on the move and Arsenal already having submitted at least one bid.

In response to Arsenal’s interest, Valencia attempted to extend Mosquera’s contract, which expires in 2026. But the centre-back has turned down that option in favour of a switch to north London, agreeing personal terms with Arsenal instead.

Valencia are reportedly looking for around €20m (£17.2m), but Arsenal are hoping to pay closer to €15m (£12.9m). The deal is at a standstill for now, and perhaps the Gunners’ new bid will help the two clubs reach a compromise.

As for Eze, whilst Crystal Palace representatives are reportedly aware of Arsenal’s interest, there haven’t been any reports of club-to-club negotiations at this stage.

Once again, Arsenal have received the green light from the player after talks involving Mikel Arteta, and David Ornstein has reported that the Gunners are the foremost club in the race for Eze’s signature.

But Palace are reportedly likely to demand Eze’s £60m + £8m release clause in full, so the response to Arsenal’s first bid will let us know how strong that stance is.
