Everton are on the hunt for a new striker after allowing Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s contract to expire.
Thierno Barry would appear to be the number one target, although there’s every chance that a couple more forwards could join him in Merseyside.
Meanwhile, the rumours surrounding who Calvert-Lewin will play for next season continue to heat up.

Richard Keys blasts Man United for attempting to sign Calvert-Lewin
Manchester United are one of the clubs linked with a move for Calvert-Lewin. Their manager Ruben Amorim is aiming to build a squad in his own image, and he’s believed to be an admirer of the England striker.
However, news of this potential transfer has led many to bash Calvert-Lewin by claiming he’s not good enough to get United back challenging for honours.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
Richard Keys, a presenter for beIN Sports, is one of those calling out United for this potential transfer.
In a post on X (7 July), he said: “I used to think there was a player in Calvert-Lewin. There still might be but Utd can’t seriously be thinking about signing him.”
Keys went on to add: “What a come down. The Jim Reaper (Jim Ratcliffe) has led the club into a cul-de-sac. I’d be surprised if the new stadium ever gets built. What a shambles.”
Calvert-Lewin could still do a job for a top Premier League team
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored 71 goals in 273 appearances for Everton. He was regarded as one of the most potent strikers in the Premier League and was in England’s squad for the 2020 European Championships. He’s still only 28 years old.
He has struggled with injuries and form in the last couple of seasons, but there’s no reason why he couldn’t recover his peak form.
He wasn’t able to agree a deal with Everton, but David Moyes and the club wanted him to stay on the right terms.
If another Premier League club meets the striker’s demands, there’s every chance he could find his golden touch again.

Calvert-Lewin was a great servant for Everton
United were linked with a move for Viktor Gyokeres, who is arguably Europe’s most in-form striker.
It is a bit of a step down to now be targeting the former Toffees striker, but he could still be worth a punt considering he’s now available on a free transfer.
The striker has also been linked with newly-promoted sides Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland.
