Bayern Munich shortlist Renato Veiga — reports

Renato Veiga impressed during his half-season loan spell at Juventus, and while the Serie A giants were not able to scrape together the funds that would’ve been necessary to keep him for good — and we didn’t even let them keep Veiga for the Club World Cup — we are hoping that some other team might.

That hope may yet turn into reality, with with Fabrizio Romano reporting recently that the 21-year-old defender has been shortlisted at Bayern Munich, where the future of center back Kim Min-jae is in doubt. There’s nothing further to this report at the moment, but Romano also claims that there are “several” other clubs also keen on Veiga’s services, who has also established himself as a regular in the Portuguese national team over the past year.

Chelsea paid €14m to FC Basel last summer to sign a then hardly known Veiga. We’re said to be looking for at least €20-25m, so he’s priced to move.

FC Bayern have added Renato Veiga high on potential 4 options list for new centre back this summer.

Any incoming will depend on Kim min-Jae exit and also timing of the negotiations.
