Andre Onana has endured a tricky spell at Manchester United since arriving from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023.

Brought in as David de Gea’s successor, the Cameroonian was tipped to be the modern goalkeeper United needed.

Capable with his feet and commanding in build-up.

But inconsistency has shown since his debut season, with fans and even United legends criticising both his shot-stopping and distribution under pressure.

His future at Old Trafford has remained under scrutiny, especially since Ruben Amorim took over in November.

Now, fresh details have emerged over the club’s stance on the 29-year-old.

According to Chris Wheeler’s report for Daily Mail, Manchester United have quoted Monaco a price tag of £30 million for Onana.

The Ligue 1 side explored a potential summer move at the end of last month.

The fee is significantly lower than the £47.2 million United paid to sign him from Inter Milan just two years ago.

However, a price still too steep for Monaco, who are unlikely to pursue the deal further.

New Saudi Pro League club SC Neom had also shown interest before signing Marcin Bulka from Nice instead.

Bulka, formerly of Chelsea, was also a Red Devils target recently.

Despite the speculation around possible replacements, Onana is now expected to stay.

He is set to return to Carrington this week and keen to prove himself under Amorim.

Club sources confirmed to Daily Mail that Amorim and goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital are satisfied with Onana and no replacement is currently being prioritised.

That is despite links to Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, with the Argentinian already giving the move a ‘green light.’

While the Red Devils are open to selling almost any player at the right price to fund a wider squad rebuild, goalkeeper is not seen as a priority position.

Instead, United are focusing on a new striker, central midfielder and centre-back, with Matheus Cunha already in the building and Bryan Mbeumo to follow.

Significant outgoings are still expected, however.

But for now, Onana is looking increasingly likely to remain as No.1 heading into the new season.
