Manchester United could consider some wildcard signings as they look to further add to their squad in the summer transfer window.
Ruben Amorim welcomed the first group of players back to Carrington for initial pre-season tests on Monday morning, with Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon the only new additions to their first-team squad. Those involved with international duty are not due back until Thursday, while five players have been granted an extended leave in order to facilitate summer exits.
United hoped to have as many new signings in place as possible for the start of their summer schedule, with Amorim's side due to face Leeds in their first friendly match next week. As things stand, Cunha and Leon might be the only new attractions, with time running out to add to their squad before they return to action.
It could lead United to consider alternative options in the transfer window, and here is how they could line up next season with three wildcard signings.
