West Ham eye audacious move for £50m star amid search for Kudus replacement

**West Ham United are preparing for life after Mohammed Kudus, with the Ghanaian forward subject to serious interest from Tottenham Hotspur.**

According to [Sacha Tavolieri](https://www.sky-sport.ch/fr/articles/leandro-trossard-luis-diaz-ibou-konate-lookman-voici-les-infos-transferts-de-la-semaine/), the Hammers will prioritise a move for Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman if Kudus leaves for Tottenham.

After three years at the Gewiss Stadium, Lookman seems poised to end his association with Atalanta this summer and has been linked with some of the biggest names in European football.

Arsenal were among clubs linked with a move for Lookman. However, that speculation has gone cold since the Gunners switched their attention to Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.

Lookman isn’t short on potential suitors, especially after his exploits last season.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a fantastic 2024/25 campaign, notching 20 goals and seven assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.

The season before, he scored 17 times and weighed in with 10 assists in 45 games.

He also single-handedly won the Europa League title for La Dea, netting a sublime hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.

With the Nigerian winger set to switch clubs this summer, West Ham are positioning themselves to launch a move, although that’ll have to wait until Kudus’ future is sorted out.

The former Ajax forward wants to leave West Ham this summer. Chelsea and Tottenham are among clubs touted as his potential next destination.

However, rumours about a move to Chelsea have cooled in recent weeks, with Spurs now leading the race to land his signature.

Tottenham have already seen a £50 million bid for Kudus turned down by West Ham, who are holding out for a higher fee. Kudus has an £85m clause in his contract, although Spurs want to negotiate a lower fee.

Both clubs are still in talks, but if that deal goes through, the Hammers will make their move for Lookman.

[West Ham are already on the market for Kudus’ replacement](https://westhamblog.co.uk/posts/west-ham-could-turn-to-chelseas-chukwuemeka-or-dewsbury-hall-to-replace-kudus/), and Lookman is at the top of their wishlist.

The Nigerian is valued at around £50m and would be a statement signing for West Ham, especially after the season they’ve just had.
