Liverpool have now entered the Eberechi Eze conversation.
There is plenty of speculation surrounding the England international due to the £68m release clause in his contract, which TBR Football understand Crystal Palace are open to being paid in instalments rather than a lump sum.
Arsenal are keen to sign Eze and are currently viewed as the most likely destination for the man born in Greenwich, although the Independent now claim that Liverpool might yet rival the Gunners, having admired the Crystal Palace No.10 for many years.
In light of that development, let’s take a look at what Eberechi Eze has previously said about Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez.
Eberechi Eze has previously hailed Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah
If the Londoner does make the switch to Merseyside, the Egypt international and the Uruguay international should be pleased to see him.
Eze has previously heaped praise on Salah when taking part in a game of Higher or Lower for Sky Sports, and said the following after learning that his rating for dribbling was below that of Bernardo Silva.
“88 is still very good, and he is very good at dribbling, so that’s fair.”
In the same video, Eze also talked up the shooting ability of Nunez after learning that the South American had a rating of just 81 for that particular skill, adding: “81 is a bit low for Darwin. I don’t know what I’d give him… I think 82.”
Eberechi Eze once stunned Jurgen Klopp
Eze is no stranger to troubling Liverpool, and actually scored the winner at Anfield as Crystal Palace recorded a 1-0 win towards the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
His sumptuous strike – which won the Goal of the Season award at Crystal Palace for that term – came after 21 passes as the south Londoners orchestrated a fine move, which left Jurgen Klopp bewildered on the sideline, visibly saying “wow” after the effort.
Soon, Liverpool could instead be the beneficiary of his talent, should Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes opt to pose a genuine threat to Arsenal in this transfer battle.
