Liverpool “may come in” for “amazing” 27 y/o and hijack rivals’ move – reliable journalist

Liverpool “may come in” for a Premier League star during the summer transfer window, according to a promising update from reliable journalist Miguel Delaney.

The Reds have already enjoyed a productive summer in the market to date, bringing in Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.

It is unlikely that Liverpool’s business is done there, however, with another attacker potentially arriving at Anfield before next season gets underway.

According to The Independent‘s Delaney on X, the reigning Premier League champions “may come in” for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, as they look to swoop in and sign him ahead of Arsenal.

The Gunners are the front-runners to secure the services of the 27-year-old, but in the report itself, Delaney states that “no club has yet made a concrete approach” yet.

Is Eze a perfect option for Liverpool?

Eze’s natural talent is undeniable, having been such an influential attacking presence for Palace for so long, scoring the winning goal in last season’s FA Cup final against Manchester City.

The England international can excel as a No.10 or in more of a wide role, and if Luis Diaz were to move to Barcelona, he could be considered a strong option to compete with Cody Gakpo for minutes.

Eze bagged eight goals and assists apiece in the Premier League last season – strong numbers in a team not fighting at the top of the table – and Eagles manager Oliver Glasner knows how good he is, saying:

“The goal against Latvia and his first for England means a lot for him him. He always has the confidence, we know he’s an amazing finisher to cut inside on his right foot with an amazing finish.”

It is easy to envisage a move to Arsenal appealing to Eze, though, allowing him to stay in London and also potentially go straight in as a key starter ahead of Gabriel Martinelli, which may not be the case at Liverpool, given Gakpo’s quality.

If the Reds have the opportunity to hijack a move for the attacker, they should look at Eze as a fantastic option who is at the peak of his powers, and should be for the foreseeable future.
