According to the report by Africa Foot, Ndidi is about to leave the Foxes this summer following eight years at the club, as he looks to remain a top flight player.
As well as United, Premier League rivals Everton, Real Betis, Al Ahly, and Fenerbahce are all targeting the experienced midfielder, as Leicester want to recoup £13m for a player who has two years remaining on his contract at the King Power Stadium.
And according to Nigerian legend Aghahowa, via an exclusive interview by Africa Foot, the 28-year-old would prioritise a move to Old Trafford over all other options.
He said:
.While Everton and Al Ahly are clearly interested, Ndidi hopes to join Manchester United. He wants to take a step up by signing for a big club like Manchester United.
This would be an excellent move for someone I consider one of the best African midfielders of recent years. He is powerful, capable of pressing, winning back balls, and opening up the game with his long diagonal runs.
United could be looking to strengthen in the middle of the park to provide more competition for the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Casemiro, with the latter linked with a summer exit as he has a year remaining on his contract.
