German Media Wars: Sky Germany counters Bild’s reporting on Bayern Munich’s rumored dealings…

The news started to drop early this morning — first, it was that Bayern Munich had reached an agreement on personal terms with Liverpool FC attacker Luis Diaz. Second, it was a report that Diaz had even informed Bayern Munich that he wants to move to the Bundesliga.

Both reports came from Bild or Bild journalists, but now, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg is denying Bild’s information:

FC Bayern are not giving up on Luis #Díaz. Max Eberl remains on the case but is also assessing other options.

Any agreement between Díaz and Bayern is denied by all sides. Last week, Eberl made a call to Liverpool. It was an informal enquiry, not an offer. And Liverpool’s response: “Díaz is currently not for sale.”

Bayern remain in contact with the player’s camp. More clubs are keen on Diaz.

Where does the truth stand? It is tough to tell. For Bild to double-down on its reporting was a bold move, but Plettenberg seems to have a story that also makes sense. An interesting side note to all of this, is that Diaz actually seems like his first choice would be a move to FC Barcelona (where have we heard that one before).

Does Bild have the bad information or is Plettenberg being misled by his sources? Inquiring minds want to know...

Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala will be out for months and now the club could be on the lookout for some help. Will Vincent Kompany and Max Eberl looking to lean on internal options or take a gander out at the transfer market for the attacking midfield position? Things just got more difficult, especially when considering the team’s No. 1 priority is at left-wing and a close No. 2 could be center-back. Let’s talk about how it might all play out on this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works Show. You can get the podcast on Patreon, Acast, Spotify, any leading podcast distributor, or below:
