The Boston Celtics have already traded two former All-Stars in Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday this offseason. Al Horford, another former All-Star, is also a free agent, and he’s eyeing other teams too.
Now, one of the players the Celtics received from the Holiday trade could already be on his way out via trade as well.
Or at least that seems to be what local Boston NBA insider Bill Simmons seems to be hinting at in his latest post on social media.
Weird that the Celtics never did a press conference welcoming Anfernee Simons to the team. pic.twitter.com/WXVvgNYAXr

For those who may need a reminder, Simmons’ post captures the previously viral meme from ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst, when he foreshadowed the Utah Jazz starting their organizational rebuild by trading both Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell in the same offseason. Though, like Simmons did now, Windhorst never really provided specific details on what to expect.
In other words, we may not know it yet, but it’s possible the Celtics have a big trade up their sleeves this summer. Or, maybe this is just Simmons hoping his favorite team is working on something juicy. Either way, we’ll have our answers on what’s going on in Boston this summer soon enough.
