Rasmus Hojlund appears to be in limbo regarding his future at Manchester United.

Hojlund, 22, who scored only four Premier League goals last season, appears to be available for transfer this summer and has attracted interest from Italy.

The former Atalanta man struggled to find any form in front of goal in 2024/25, which parallels his first campaign at Old Trafford.

With exits for Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho thought to be in the pipeline, Hojlund is at the opposite end of the spectrum.

The Dane wants to stay at the Theatre of Dreams and is keen to fight for his future under Ruben Amorim, according to a new update from Fabrizio Romano.

Romano says Hojlund 'is not pushing to leave' the club he joined back in August 2023 and has insisted the forward 'would love' to stay at Manchester United.

Talks of a move for Ollie Watkins hit the headlines last month, but it appears any progress for a new number nine will come after Hojlund's future is settled.

The Italian journalist goes on to say Hojlund's proposed move to Inter Milan is merely on 'standby' as clarity around the situation is yet to be thrashed out by all parties.

Hojlund was not pictured at Carrington on Monday as part of the first batch of players back at the training ground, with some internationals allowed an extended break.

Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro are just some of the other squad members who have not yet arrived back for testing, with their returns thought to be in the pipeline.

Joshua Zirkzee, who often shared the attacking burden with Hojlund last season, did report back, and it remains to be seen just how Amorim utilises the Netherlands international next term.
