Over recent years, there’s been a rise in football documentaries, showing the behind-the-scenes of top clubs throughout a season.
Top Premier League teams like Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have all been followed by the “All or Nothing” series on Amazon Prime.
Elsewhere, several series on Netflix like “Sunderland ’til I Die” and “LaLiga All Access” have also boosted the brands of clubs significantly.
Now, The Athletic has reported that talks that were taking place for Manchester United to get their own all-access documentary with the site have come to an end.

The Red Devils have withdrawn from discussions with Amazon Prime, who would have documented the entirety of next season.
It’s understood that Amazon’s offer was substantially higher than £10 million, making it the highest fee ever paid to a club to take part in the series.
However, the club pulled the plug on the deal after several months of secretly held talks the date back to the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Despite having some of United’s senior executives in the discussions, the series was not to be.
The main reason ending the deal was in fact Ruben Amorim, who didn’t feel comfortable with the potential interference with the focus of the first team.
However, this wasn’t the only factor, with elements of the commercial agreement and time pressures of next season also shutting down the partnership.
Unfortunately this is another major set of finances which could have helped the club in their time of need set to be lost.
The Red Devils have already missed out on the £100 million extra income that would have come with qualifying to the Champions League through the Europa League final, as well as having lost their training kit sponsorship with Tezos.
